Under the ITA concluded in 1996, signatories shall reduce their tariffs on specified information technology-related products originating from all WTO members (including non-signatories) to zero. A party to the ITA since its inception, HKC is also one of the 55 WTO members who reached an agreement on the Expansion of Trade in Information Technology Products in December 2015 to further liberalise trade on 201 additional IT products beyond the scope of the original ITA. The concessions under this Expansion are extended to the entire membership of the WTO.
